The Concept Of Moelam
The Bhutanese society, in general, is founded on the Mahayana Buddhist understanding of emptiness and interdependence, which entail the practices of unconditional compassion and loving-kindness. One concept, or a tool, that enables you to carry out these practices in daily life, and which binds individuals, families, and communities and relationships in Bhutan, is Moelam.
Literally, Moe-lam means “aspiration path” as in an aspirational prayer to remove obstacles that lie on one’s path to enlightenment.

Emmet B. Keeffe III
(Founder)
Emmet recognized early in his career the power of establishing and nurturing business relationships and coined the phrase “the network is the business” more than thirty years ago. Since that time, he spent seventeen years as CEO and Co-Founder of iRise and later joined the private equity firm Insight Partners as Managing Director and Founder of Insight IGNITE.
Emmet has produced experiential thought leadership events over the course of his career which helped him establish thousands of technology executive and founder relationships globally. In 2018, he travelled to the Himalayas on a finding purpose mission and visited the Kingdom of Bhutan. During that experience, he discovered the word “Moelam” which can only be understood by going back centuries in time. Moelam is defined as “aspiration path” and the belief that every meeting happens for a reason. Moelam was later founded by Emmet as a private experiential event business to help technology executives and entrepreneurs define their future portfolio career strategies in preparation for the eventual transition from operating roles into a more balanced portfolio career.
On a personal level, Emmet is deeply passionate about anything automotive, motorsports, mental wellbeing and music. He is a Co-Owner of Campos Racing and has a long-time dream to compete for the Formula 1 World Championship. Emmet is also the Chairman and Co-Founder of the Contentment Foundation, a mental wellbeing non-profit and the Founder of the Batch Farm Festival, a private music festival in Somerset, England.
Emmet enjoys travelling, playing the drums, spending time with his wife and two boys at their farm and taking long walks in the countryside with his two Italian Spinone dogs.
In his personal life, Alberto’s passions are as much about connection as his professional endeavours. A certified wine enthusiast (WSET Award in Wines), he finds joy in sharing this love with others, whether through a carefully chosen bottle or exploring the stories behind the world’s wine regions. For Alberto, each experience is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds that make life richer and more meaningful.

Alberto’s journey, which has taken him across six countries, has always been rooted in one fundamental belief: relationships are the true foundation of both personal fulfillment and professional success. From his early days in management consulting at Bain & Company and Monitor Deloitte to his leadership role at Insight Partners, Alberto has found that his most impactful moments come from forging deep, authentic connections.
A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, Alberto is deeply engaged with the LGBTQ+ community. He is a founding board member of Out Investors, a global network that aims to make the direct investing industry more welcoming for LGBTQ+ professionals. Additionally, he is a founding member of Series Q, a network dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs by fostering visibility, connectivity, and mentorship across the startup ecosystem. Alberto’s involvement in these organizations reflects his belief that inclusive environments allow people to be their authentic selves. He knows first-hand that meaningful relationships are hard to build when you’re hiding who you are, and that true growth happens when authenticity is embraced.
